GRAD TRACKER
Follow me as I pursue my PhD degree at the University of Toronto in the Department of Molecular Genetics!
Degree Program: PhD (Direct Entry)- Molecular Genetics, Computational Biology in Molecular Genetics (CBMG), Collaborative Specialization in Developmental Biology (CSDB)
Thesis Lab and Project:
Protze lab- McEwen Stem Cell Institute, UHN
Thesis Project: Developing an in vitro human gastrulod model for cardiac development.
Rotations:

Sept 7 - Oct 8 2021
Dr. Stephanie Protze- McEwen Stem Cell Institute, UHN
Project: Developing an in vitro human gastruloid model for cardiac development.
I ran a pilot experiment developing human gastruloids using 2 different hES lines. As a side project, I also differentiated hES cells into cardiomyocytes (AV node-like cells).

Oct 12- Nov 12
Dr. Tae-Hee Kim- SickKids Hospital, Peter Gilgan Centre for Research & Learning
Project: Investigating the role of Sox2 overexpression in intestinal/colorectal tumourgenesis
I sectioned and stained mouse intestinal samples of Sox2 overexpression mice.
